years of real-world experience in the Netherlands and the UK, working in a medical setting, the world of publishing, the creative industries, risk consultancy (insurance) and even in the engineering sector. Before becoming a full-time freelance Dutch to English translation specialist in 2008, I translated in my spare time – simply for my love of words. My work as a project manager has given me an extremely disciplined approach to my freelance work. As I work alone, I can offer competitive prices through low overheads.

I specialise in translations in medicine, pharmaceuticals, risk management, insurance, engineering and management – all areas in which I have physically worked – but over the years I have gained translation experience in many other fields and have built up extensive dictionaries. I experience a large demand for ‘flowery’ texts, which require a significant amount of copywriting. I work with both agency and direct clients based in the UK, the Netherlands, Belgium and France.

Suzanne has provided translation services for both my previous and current employer (Virta), which have always been to our complete satisfaction. The work consisted of texts in the insurance field and services in relation to the Dutch social security system. In addition to the high quality, she also provides her own input , in order to, for example, communicate typical Dutch legislation correctly to foreign parties. Our work has generally involved ad-hoc assignments, in response to which Suzanne has quickly provided a delivery date and she has always delivered on the agreed date.
